Capital Index Review: Not Authorised in Türkiye (SPK)

In June 2026 the name Capital Index was shared in a forex warning channel for Turkish investors among brands compiled from overseas broker catalogues. Although the brand carries the name of a foreign brokerage, the permission required to open leveraged trading accounts under this name in Türkiye does not exist.

🏷️ What Is Behind the Capital Index Name?

Abroad, companies titled Capital Index (UK) Limited in the United Kingdom and Capital Index (Global) Limited in the Bahamas use this brand; the domain capitalindex.com has been registered since 2003. These foreign licences are not valid for providing investment services in Türkiye. London Trading Index, which also has "Index" in its name, is a different operation with a similar nameTR; no domain or company link was found between the two brands.

⚠️ Where Does the Risk Begin for a Turkish Investor?

With catalogue brands of this kind, the problem often starts when Turkish-speaking "account managers" call investors using a well-known name.

SPK Decision No. 8/297 of 24.02.2017 treats bringing investors in Türkiye together with overseas entities for leveraged transactions as unauthorised activity. Authorised institutions appear on the SPK list of intermediary institutions. Before investing, check whether a platform is authorised by the regulator in your own country (for example the FCA, ASIC or SEC).
