NovaTask Scam Warning: Fake Tasks, Cloned UK Firm

The name NovaTask suggests doing a job and getting paid for it. On the platform's own page, however, there is no task: the only thing asked of the user is to pick a level and deposit the amount that level requires.
🚩 What Does the "Task" Name Hide?
The platform's name and promotion set up a working relationship: the user does something and receives a reward. The system on the page is quite different. The user first chooses a level, deposits the amount for that level, and then waits for the result of the "cycle". No work is done; the only variable that decides the steps is the amount paid.
This choice of name is no accident. Because the word "task" suggests labour, people see themselves as workers rather than investors; a worker does not think of putting money at risk, but of being owed what they earn. The source of the profit is never questioned, because it is assumed to be work. Yet the only way to move up to a higher step is to pay more, and that is by definition an investment relationship.
💳 The Balance Credited Before Any Payment
The system credits a small amount to the account of a newly registered user before any payment is made. This amount is below even the lowest investment step, so it is useless on its own. Its function is different: it creates a non-zero balance in the account.
A non-zero balance gives the feeling that the relationship has already begun. The person stops asking "should I invest?" and starts asking "how do I grow my balance?". An extra rate promised on the first deposit lifts the same step by one more level.
🔍 Findings
- Address used: novatask.uk, registered on 24 January 2026
- Telegram account announced as the official channel: @Nova_task
- The page uses a second brand name, Nova Business, the short form of the UK-registered Nova Business Finance Ltd
- The stated postal address is a London service address used as the registered address of thousands of companies
- The footer of the page shows a company register link and a regulatory register link side by side
- Deposits are taken in USDT and in tiered steps
- Date added to the UK financial regulator's warning list: 17 September 2026, under the heading "clone firm"
🪪 The Firm Whose Identity Was Used, and How the Clone Differs
The UK financial regulator's warning of 17 September 2026 states clearly whose identity NovaTask borrowed: Nova Business Finance Ltd, entered in the regulatory register under reference number 1016336. The "Nova Business" name and the register link in the footer of the NovaTask page point to this real entry, so anyone who checks the register finds a company that really exists and is registered. This is exactly where the clone builds its credibility.
What reveals the difference is not the name but the contact and address details:
- Address: The real entry's address is in the Milton Keynes area (Olney), while NovaTask states the Shelton Street service address in Covent Garden, London, used as the registered address of many companies.
- Web address and email: The clone uses the novatask.uk domain and an email tied to it; the real entry's contact details are not linked to this domain.
- Channel: The real entry lists no Telegram account; the @Nova_task account belongs only to the clone.
- Type of activity: The registered firm's name suggests business finance; a "task" platform collecting tiered USDT deposits is not the subject of that entry.
The regulator's warning also stresses that schemes of this kind can mix the real firm's details with their own fake ones and can change contact details over time. The domain was registered in January 2026 and the warning was published in September 2026, which shows that the scheme promoted itself with this mixed identity for about eight months.
⚖️ Identity Imitation and the Legal Position
The UK regulator placed this scheme on its investor warning list on the ground that the identity of a registered firm was used. What was borrowed here is not a brand name but the register identity of another firm, so the question "is the name correct?" is no test at all. Nova Business Finance Ltd has no connection with this scheme; its name is being misused.
NovaTask is not authorised by the Capital Markets Board (SPK) in Türkiye; authorised firms in Türkiye are verified from the SPK list. Article 109/A of Capital Markets Law No. 6362 provides imprisonment and a judicial fine for those who operate as a crypto asset service provider without permission.
🔗 Other Schemes Using the Same Method
Investment steps presented as work, and crypto collection run over Telegram, are not unique to one brand. We have covered other schemes with the same story before.
- NextGen StableEarn: a fixed-return "crypto cycle" storyTR
- Skyfliip Networks: an investment requirement that rises with tiered membershipTR
- An "earn for tasks" scheme run over TelegramTR
- The legal process in task scams ("complete tasks and earn")TR
- Clone sites built on the identity of a registered firm
🧭 The Legal Process for Victims
In cases involving crypto transfers, the chain of wallets and accounts that the transfer reached is first mapped out; then an asset investigationTR and, where needed, seizure and confiscationTR are assessed. If the chain has a banking leg, the money laundering connectionTR is examined separately.
