Global Value Chain Scam: Fake Professor WhatsApp Stock Group

Global Value Chain is the new brand used by a fraud scheme that operates through WhatsApp groups under the name of stock investment. This name, which gives the impression of a corporate and international fund, is the latest front of the same team that appeared earlier under other names. Two identities stand out in the scheme: the so-called professor Serdar Altay and the so-called assistant Melisa (Melis) Kaya. Global Value Chain is not authorised in Türkiye by the Capital Markets Board (SPK).
🔁 New Name, Same Team, Same Script
The most distinctive feature of how this network works is that the brand name is changed frequently. The name that has accumulated negative content online is dropped; the team sets up the same script again from the start under a new name with strong corporate associations. It is no coincidence that the phrase "Global Value Chain" gives the impression of a global supply and value chain fund; the aim is to make the person feel they are dealing with an international institution.
The only thing that changes is the name. The referral channel, the group set-up, the "professor and assistant" pair, the profit campaign and the obstacles at the withdrawal stage stay exactly the same. We covered in detail how the same pattern is repeated under different brands in the Narkasa exampleTR.
🪤 How Does the Global Value Chain System Work?
- First contact through advertising: People are reached through investment and stock market advertisements on social media; the aim is to get the user into a WhatsApp group.
- The education cover: The group is presented under a harmless frame such as "stock market education", "analysis sharing" or "investment community", hiding its purpose of collecting money.
- Analyses produced with artificial intelligence: The stock comments and technical analyses shared in the name of the "Professor Serdar Altay" identity are texts prepared with artificial intelligence. The aim is to create an impression of academic and professional expertise.
- Probing through the assistant: The "Melisa Kaya" identity deals with members one to one; in a friendly tone she asks questions to gauge how much the person can set aside for investment and how easily they can be persuaded.
- Fake participant support: Accounts in the group whose identity cannot be verified constantly share profit screenshots and thank-you messages, making the environment look lively and trustworthy.
- The profit campaign: After a while, an organisation is announced under the name of "corporate cooperation", "special fund participation" or an "AI-supported trading system", promising unrealistically high returns in the short term.
- The controlled platform: Those who want to join are directed to a site or app that the team itself has built. The balance and profit seen on the screen do not correspond to a real market transaction.
- The withdrawal wall: When money is to be withdrawn, excuses such as tax, withholding tax, exchange rate difference, commission or an "account verification fee" are listed. After each payment a new reason is produced; the payout is never made.

🆕 Update: The Mobius Social Profile
It was found that the team also opened a profile on Mobius SocialTR, a fake social investment site resembling X. The "Prof.Dr. Serdar Altay" profile states in its institution field "Global Value Chain Investment Ltd. — Chief Professor"; in other words, the profile itself shows that the two operations belong to the same team.
🎭 Why Are the "Professor" and "Assistant" Identities Used?
This pair is not a randomly chosen story; it rests on a division of labour designed to build trust in the person. The "professor" title suggests academic authority and neutrality; he does not ask for money directly, he only "shares analysis". The "assistant" is an approachable and helpful figure; she simplifies technical subjects, encourages the person and takes them to the payment stage.
In this way the request for money appears to come not from the authority figure but from a "helper", and suspicion decreases. These two identities have no connection with real people; the name, title and often the photograph are taken from other sources.
⚖️ Is Global Value Chain Legal?
In Türkiye, investment advice and portfolio management can be carried out only by institutions authorised by the Capital Markets Board. Global Value Chain has no such authorisation; therefore neither its stock recommendations nor its collection of investments has a legal basis. A name with a corporate look, an English brand or profit images shared in a group do not make a scheme authorised. Money transferred to unauthorised platforms is not under legal protection.
🛡️ Protection Tips
- Whether an institution is authorised can be checked in the SPK list of authorised institutions.
- People in WhatsApp groups who give stock recommendations as a "professor", "teacher" or "assistant" and steer others to a particular app are not reliable sources.
- Profit screenshots in a group can easily be fabricated; posts by accounts whose identity cannot be verified do not count as evidence.
- A platform that asks for an additional payment under the name of tax, withholding tax or exchange rate difference in order to withdraw is a warning sign, and legitimate institutions do not operate this way.
