Rug Pull and Fake Coin (ICO) Scams in Türkiye

One of the most common forms of fraud in the crypto asset space is the team of a project disappearing after investment has been collected (a rug pull), together with the issuance of fake coins or tokens that have no real value. The subject is covered below for information purposes.
⚖️ Legal Nature
Taking investors' money or crypto assets by misleading them through deceit may, depending on each case, be treated as fraud. A fake whitepaper, untrue team or partnership information and artificial trading volume are frequently seen elements.
In short: In a rug pull the project is abandoned once investment has been collected; with a fake coin there is no real value or product behind it.
🔍 Warning Signs
Assured high returns, a team with no verifiable identity, sudden pressure around a "listing" or "exit", and obstacles that appear when withdrawing from a wallet are warning signs. The distinction from a licensed crypto platform is also important.
🛡️ From the Victim's Side
Victims may take part in the process through a criminal complaint and legal claims; transaction records, wallet addresses and correspondence are important evidence. On-chain tracing can contribute to the process.
