Sunlit Trading Scam Warning: Fake AI Trading Bot, FCA Alert

Sunlit Trading is a scam operation that collects funds from customers under the name of artificial intelligence and an automated trading bot. It was seriously warned about by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) in March 2026. Receiving a double warning, for "Sunlit Trading" and "Sunlit Trading Artificial Intelligence Trading Company", this platform misleads customers with promises of earnings above 95%, blocks the withdrawal of funds and does not return deposited money.
🚨 Licence Status and Legal Warnings
Sunlit Trading does not hold any financial licence. In Türkiye, forex services can only be offered by institutions licensed by the Capital Markets Board (SPK). Sunlit Trading is not authorised in Türkiye by the Capital Markets Board (SPK). The FCA warnings indicate not only that the platform is unlicensed, but also that its automated trading systems (AI bots) are fake.

⚠ How the Scam Works
Sunlit Trading attracts customers under the name of an "automated trading system" supported by artificial intelligence. The scam mechanism includes the following steps:
- AI bot promise: Customers are led to deposit money with the claim of a "self-improving trading bot supported by artificial intelligence".
- Unbelievable return promises: False promises such as "earnings above 95%", "fixed daily profit" and "never loses" draw in money.
- Fake performance records: None of the "successful trades" shown on the customer panel is real. They are displayed only to encourage customers to deposit more money.
- Withdrawal blocks: Withdrawals are obstructed with excuses such as "verification errors", "system maintenance" and "missing tax documents".
- Support asking for more and more payments: When the customer wants to withdraw money, the support team asks for additional payments (a "transaction fee", a "bonus tax document" and so on).
🔍 Ways to Detect It
Sunlit Trading and similar AI-based scam trading platforms can be recognised through several points:
- Doubt about AI promises: No software can promise a stable profit of 95%. Market risk is always present.
- SPK check: The list of institutions licensed by the SPK does not include Sunlit Trading.
- Domain analysis: The "sunlittrading.live" domain is not typical for corporate platforms. The ".live" extension is common for quickly set up and cheap sites.
- Social media verification: Corporate presence such as LinkedIn, Facebook or an official Twitter account can be examined. Sunlit Trading's presence on these platforms is very limited or made up of fake accounts.
- Withdrawal conditions: Real platforms offer easy withdrawals. At Sunlit Trading, withdrawals are complicated and often blocked.
✅ Protection and Precautions
Protection from AI-based scam platforms like Sunlit Trading usually rests on the following points:
- Working only with licensed institutions: In Türkiye, these are platforms and intermediary institutions that have obtained a licence from the SPK: https://spk.gov.tr/faaliyet-izinleri/araci-kurumlar
- Staying away from promises of assured returns: No legitimate investment instrument can promise a 95% gain. This is a sign of fraud.
- Independent verification: A platform's name can be searched in the FCA warning list and in finance forums.
- Payment method check: Requests for untraceable methods such as crypto, remittance or Western Union are a reason for distrust.
- Communication records: All emails, chats and transaction details are normally kept.
