Balatro Capital Scam: Crypto Withdrawals Blocked by Collateral

Balatro Capital is a scheme that collects investments with the promise of crypto profits and runs all communication entirely over WhatsApp. When the balance built up in the account is requested for withdrawal, a new condition called "collateral" appears. It has nothing to do with the popular computer game of the same name.
💬 How Balatro Capital Collects Money
People who introduce themselves to the investor as "customer service" and the "finance department" write over WhatsApp; no written contract or official document is provided. The money moves from the user's own bank account to Binance TR, from there to Binance Global, and finally to the wallet supplied by the scheme.
- Within a few weeks, repeated rounds of deposits are requested; each round is larger than the previous one.
- The balance growing on the dashboard is used to justify the new payment.
- The withdrawal request is accepted with the words "approved", but the money is never sent.
🔒 What Does the "Collateral" Condition Mean?
To release the approved withdrawal, the user is first asked to deposit collateral, and then to keep this collateral in their own account. The aim is to push the investor into finding new money and to postpone the withdrawal indefinitely. Under Article 35/B of Capital Markets Law No. 6362, providing crypto-asset services in Türkiye requires SPK permission; Balatro Capital has no such permission. Institutions can be checked in the SPK list.
📅 Timeline of the Reports About Balatro Capital
Reports about the scheme go back to the autumn of 2025. In the example described, the deposit rounds began in the second week of September 2025, two more rounds were requested within the same month, and the last transfer was made in the third week of October 2025. The withdrawal request, at which point the collateral condition came up, was made at the end of October 2025, right after this last transfer.
- September 2025: first contact over WhatsApp and first crypto transfer
- September 2025: two additional deposit rounds requested a few days apart
- October 2025: last transfer and a withdrawal request described as "approved"
- End of October 2025: a collateral condition equal to the withdrawal amount, and a request that the collateral be held in the user's own account
It is notable that the collateral amount is set exactly equal to the balance to be withdrawn: the investor is told to find again as much money as the profit shown on the dashboard, while the statement that the collateral will stay in their own account gives the request the look of "your money will still be with you", which makes the persuasion easier. For this condition too, no written contract or document is provided. The fact that transfers pass from a local bank to a crypto exchange and from there to a foreign exchange means the trail of the money can be followed step by step.
