Capital One Forex Scam – Misusing the Capital One Name

Capital One is one of the large banks in the United States and has no branch or platform in Türkiye that opens forex accounts for retail investors. At the end of May 2026, however, the bank's name appeared in Turkish-language forex warning channels as the label of an investment account.
🏦 Why Is a Bank Name Chosen?
The name of a foreign bank makes the caller's claim to be an "international investment unit" believable. When the investor searches for the bank online, the real institution's website appears and the investor attributes it to the account being offered. In fact, the trading screen runs at an address unrelated to the bank.
🔍 Similar Domain Names and an Earlier Warning
The addresses capitalonefx.com (2024) and capitaloneglobal.com (2018) are registered but show blank pages; their connection with the scheme in question could not be verified. In 2019 the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) also issued an impersonation warning against an entity called "Capital One Management Inc.", which evoked the bank's name.

🧭 The Legal Process
Using the name of a bank brings the act within the provisions on qualified fraudTR (Article 158/1-f of the Turkish Penal Code). The way imitation screens work is described in our article on cloned bank websites.
