mfsa.finance – Fake Malta Regulator Site Misusing MFSA Name

The domain mfsa.finance, which carries the name of a real financial authority in its web address, is a clone site that copies the name, logo and content of the Malta Financial Services Authority (MFSA). On 13 October 2026 the MFSA announced that it has no connection with the site and that it is not an official channel.
🎭 What Does a Fake Regulator Site Do in the Scheme?
In schemes of this kind, the imitation of a regulator does not work alone; it plays the role of a "supervisory authority" in the background of a forex or crypto platform. The steps often seen in an institution clone site scheme are these:
- A fake query page showing that the platform is "licensed"
- A message such as "your account is under authority review" when a withdrawal is requested, together with a demand for a tax or compliance fee
- A new payment request to an investor who has already lost money, with the claim that "the authority will refund your money"
🔍 Findings About mfsa.finance
The domain was registered on 26 September 2026 and placed behind Cloudflare; as of 29 October 2026 the address does not respond. The official address of the real MFSA is mfsa.mt, and the MFSA is a public authority based in Malta; it has no connection with the fake site. The site is not authorised by the Capital Markets Board (SPK); valid authorisation in Türkiye can be queried through the SPK list of authorised intermediary institutions. Taking money by impersonating an institution is assessed as qualified fraud under Article 158/1-f of the Turkish Penal Code.
