Premium Capital FX Scam: FCA Warning, Crypto Payments

Premium Capital FX is a forex and crypto investment platform that has been warned about as unauthorised by the UK Financial Conduct Authority (FCA). Operating at premiumcapitalfx.ltd, the platform tries to look legitimate by using company structures registered at different addresses. In particular, by accepting payment in cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin and Ethereum, it makes it almost impossible for investors to get their money back. Premium Capital FX is not authorised in Türkiye by the Capital Markets Board (SPK).

🚨 The FCA Warning and a Suspicious Company Structure

The FCA has published an official warning about Premium Capital FX. An important detail is that the company is registered at Companies House, the UK company register, as "Premium Capital Limited". The company's former name was "Premium Philately Limited", and it operated in the field of stamp collecting. The change of name in 2022 suggests that an existing company shell was used for a forex fraud.

In addition, the address registered with the FCA (Peterborough Road, Surrey) and the address at Companies House (Canary Wharf, London) are completely different; this inconsistency is a clear sign that the company is untrustworthy.

🚩 The Crypto Payment Trap

  • Payment in cryptocurrency: The platform accepts investments in Bitcoin and Ethereum. Crypto transfers cannot be reversed and are extremely hard to trace, which is why fraudsters prefer crypto payment.
  • Withdrawal blocked: When investors try to withdraw money, methods such as double payment demands, account manipulation and cutting off contact are applied.
  • No customer support: Especially after a withdrawal request, customer service does not respond and emails go unanswered.
  • The minimum deposit trap: The platform opens the door with a low minimum deposit of 50 dollars, then pressures investors to deposit larger sums.

🛡️ Protection Guide

  • Premium Capital FX has been warned about as unauthorised by the FCA, so dealings with it carry a very high risk.
  • Platforms that accept payment only by methods that are hard to reverse, such as cryptocurrency or Skrill, call for particular caution.
  • A Companies House record is not proof of reliability; registered company shells are easy to buy.
  • Whether a platform is licensed can be checked on the SPK list of authorised intermediary institutions.

❓ Frequently Asked Questions

Is Premium Capital FX licensed?

No. It has been warned about as unauthorised by the FCA. It also has no SPK registration in Türkiye. The platform is not approved by any reputable regulator.

Why was the former name of the company "Premium Philately" (stamp collecting)?

Fraudsters buy existing but inactive company shells and use them for their own purposes. The change of name in 2022 of a company set up in 2009 as a stamp collecting business is an indication of this strategy.

I invested with Bitcoin. Can I get my money back?

Crypto transfers are extremely difficult to reverse, which is why fraudsters prefer crypto payment. In practice, the transaction records are reviewed in detail in such cases. For detailed information and legal support, you can contact Savun Law & Consultancy.

I received a message from [email protected]. Can it be trusted?

No. This address is linked to a platform that the FCA has warned about. Replying to such emails or making a payment is not advisable.

Why are there two different addresses (Surrey and Canary Wharf)?

The address in the FCA warning (Peterborough Road, Surrey) and the registered address at Companies House (Canary Wharf, London) are different from each other. This inconsistency shows that the company is untrustworthy and probably uses fake addresses.
