Shares.com Review: Share CFD and Forex Platform, Not SPK Licensed

Shares.com is a trading brand that reaches users with a "buy and sell shares" image but offers the shares as contracts for difference (CFDs), not as real equity. For a user in Türkiye, the problem is that the difference between the "share ownership" the name suggests and the leveraged product on the screen often goes unnoticed.
📉 Which Product Is Sold Under the Name "Shares"?
The brand's screen shows prices for shares, currencies, commodities and crypto; but the user does not buy a stake in a company, only opens a leveraged position on a price movement. Leverage can wipe out the whole margin on a small price change. In this arrangement the other side of the trade is often the platform itself.
⚖️ The Bahamas Licence and the Position in Türkiye
Shares.com is a white-label brand operated by a company linked to the Capital.com group under a licence from the Securities Commission of The Bahamas (SCB); this foreign licence is not valid for investment services in Türkiye. The brand has no legal entity in Türkiye and no entry in the SPK list of authorised intermediary institutions.
The Capital Markets Board's Decision No. 8/297 of 24.02.2017 classes activities that connect people in Türkiye with unauthorised firms for leveraged trading as unauthorised activity.

- The validity of the account opening agreementTR signed with the overseas intermediary is examined.
- It is assessed whether the jurisdiction clause and the overseas arbitration clause in the agreement bind the Turkish user.
