Swiss Markets Review: Unlicensed Forex and CFD Brand

Swiss Markets, despite the "Swiss" association in its name, is a brand that offers currency, commodity and index CFDs on MetaTrader 4 through companies in Cyprus, Mauritius and the Seychelles. A user in Türkiye who opens an account with this brand enters a leveraged relationship that no supervisory authority in Türkiye oversees.

In short: Swiss Markets is not authorised in Türkiye by the Capital Markets Board (SPK); it has no permission to act as a forex or CFD intermediary in Türkiye. Legal routes are open for losses arising from unauthorised intermediation.

🔍 Whose Brand Is Swiss Markets?

  • Group link: The brand belongs to companies of the BDSwiss groupTR we covered earlier; this article concerns the Swiss Markets brand run under a separate domain.
  • Foreign registrations: Registrations in Cyprus (CySEC), Mauritius (FSC) and the Seychelles (FSA) are declared; these foreign licences are not valid for investment services in Türkiye.
  • Domain: swissmarkets.com is an old domain, registered in 2002.
  • Warning record: The German Federal Financial Supervisory Authority (BaFin) had stated that the group's Mauritius company has no permission to provide services in Germany.

⚠️ The Risk for Those Trading from Türkiye

The brand has no legal entity in Türkiye and no entry in the SPK list of authorised institutions. On accounts opened through an offshore company, leverage ratios are kept high and, in a dispute, the counterparty is the company in the island jurisdiction. SPK Decision No. 8/297 of 24 February 2017 treats directing people in Türkiye to unauthorised institutions as unauthorised activity.

🔗 Similar Offshore Operations

We have previously examined brands that reach users in Türkiye with an island-jurisdiction licence. Despite the similar name, FXT Swiss is a different operationTR.

🧭 The Legal Process

  1. First, the institution's SPK authorisation statusTR is documented.
  2. The foreign court and arbitration clause in the contract is assessed under Turkish law.
  3. Through the money flow, the routes for a refund from the firm abroad are researched.
