Fake dYdX Scam: dydxgroup.com Crypto and WhatsApp Fraud

dYdX is in reality a decentralised crypto derivatives protocol, while dydxgroup.com is a fake trading site hiding behind this well-known name. The scheme starts on social media with an offer of "free financial advice", deepens through a WhatsApp group and ends with a commission demanded at the moment of withdrawal.
🚩 From Adviser to WhatsApp Group: The Scheme
This case is a typical example of the trust-building method known as pig butcheringTR. According to the fraud tracking records of the California financial regulator, the steps ran as follows:
- First contact on social media under the identity of a "financial adviser"
- An invitation to a WhatsApp signal group that also included an assistant
- A fee charged for the signals and profits rising on the screen
- A condition that an extra commission be paid to the adviser for withdrawal; even after payment the balance was not released
🔍 Names and the Domain for Identification
In the records, the adviser used the name "Nathan" and the assistant who accompanied him in the group used the name "Amy". dydxgroup.com does not appear in the records today; these operations continue the same script under different domains. SPK Decision No. 5/173 serves as a warning against unauthorised investment guidance through social media.
