EuropeFX Scam Warning: Cyprus Licence Revoked, Israel Network

EuropeFX is presented as a forex broker registered in Cyprus, but it is in fact part of a fraud network based in Tel Aviv whose licence was revoked by the Cyprus regulator, CySEC. It is reported to have been heavily fined by regulators in 2022 and placed on a warning list by the UK Financial Conduct Authority (FCA). EuropeFX, which is said to have taken millions of dollars of client money, still poses an active threat to investors. EuropeFX is not authorised in Türkiye by the Capital Markets Board (SPK).
🚩 How the Scheme Works
- Withdrawal blocking: Clients may be shown small profits at first, but when they ask to withdraw they are told they must make an additional deposit.
- Inflated account profits: Trades made by the platform are shown in the client's favour, but in reality these profits can never be withdrawn; they serve to cover up the loss of the investment.
- Pressure to deposit more: Account managers promise bigger profits in return for further deposits whenever a withdrawal is requested.
- Israel-based operation: The company's senior management works from Tel Aviv, clients never see a real office, and support is offered only by email and chat.
- Targeting of pension savings: Special campaigns were run aimed at the retirement savings of older clients.
🔍 What Is Known About EuropeFX
- CySEC licence revoked (December 2022): The Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission (CySEC) formally revoked the licence of EuropeFX (Maxiflex Ltd). This means the company has no regulated status.
- Fine: CySEC imposed an administrative fine of €370,000 on EuropeFX for breaching client protection rules and conducting its trading practices improperly.
- FCA warning list: The UK Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) listed EuropeFX as an unauthorised financial services provider.
- ASIC investigation: The Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC) conducted an active investigation into EuropeFX after receiving more than 80 complaints.
- Widespread fraud in Germany: More than €15 million in total was found to have been taken from clients in Germany.
- Losses from pension funds: More than £90,000 was lost from pension accounts in the United Kingdom.
- Company registration: Although Maxiflex Ltd is officially registered in Cyprus, all operations were run from an Israeli operations centre in Tel Aviv.
🛡️ Protection Guide
- Licence check: A broker's licence can be verified on the official websites of the FCA, CySEC or ASIC. EuropeFX and Maxiflex Ltd hold no licence with any of them.
- Withdrawal requests: A broker that asks for an additional deposit when a withdrawal is requested is showing a sign of fraud. Legitimate brokers are not entitled to block withdrawals or make them conditional on a further deposit.
- Suspicious profits: Brokers promising very fast and high returns are a warning sign. No lawful investment offers a 100% guaranteed profit.
- Telephone pressure: A broker that contacts clients by phone and presses them to invest more is using a high-pressure sales tactic, which is a reason to step back from the investment.
- Real office addresses: The office address a broker gives in Cyprus, the United Kingdom or elsewhere can be verified by a visit or through local business records.
- Company background: A broker's background can be researched through public company records and warnings published by regulators.
