Meksa Investment – Scam Misusing the Meksa Yatırım Name

Meksa Investment is a forex scheme whose name recalls Meksa Yatırım Menkul Değerler, a firm operating in Türkiye with an SPK licence, but it has no connection with that institution. Investors are first found through Telegram stock groups and social media, then have a forex account opened for them through a mobile app and a web panel. When the balance grows, a withdrawal request is either refused on arbitrary conditions or access to the account is cut off altogether.
🕵️ How Is the Meksa Yatırım Name Being Used?
The real Meksa Yatırım Menkul Değerler A.Ş. is an investment firm authorised by SPK and provides its services through its own domain, meksa.com.tr. The fraudulent scheme, on the other hand, uses the names Meksa Investment, "Meksainvest", "Meksa Investing" and in places directly "Meksa Yatırım"; in its promotion the domain meksainvestment.com and the Instagram account @meksainvestment stand out.
The aim of this scheme is to have investors who search for "Meksa" online credit the information about the long-established brokerage that appears to the fake platform. The user is given the impression that "you are working with a licensed institution", but account opening, deposits and the trading screen all run entirely through the scheme's own app and web panel. This set-up is a typical example of the scheme we described in our article on clone sites that imitate the name of a brokerage or bank.
- Brand similarity: the name "Meksa" is used with the endings "Investment / Invest / Investing".
- Corporate appearance: a fake phone line, corporate e-mail and social media accounts.
- Transfer of trust: the SPK authorisation of the real institution is presented as if it belonged to the fake platform.
📢 The Path From Telegram Groups to a Forex Account
In the reported cases the first contact mostly begins in stock-commentary groups on Telegram. In groups with names such as "Hisse Dedektörü" (Stock Detective), "Borsa Dostlar Sokağı" (Stock Market Friends Street) and "Finans Dünyası" (Finance World), daily stock comments are shared and members' trust is won with short-term "accurate predictions". The group administrator, or accounts presenting themselves as "managers of the stock market", at some point direct members by private message to the Meksa Investment app.
Once the account is opened, representatives step in. The person who opened the account calls the investor regularly and asks first for small and then gradually larger investments. The new promise that stood out in the reports of autumn 2025 was "robot-assisted forex trading": the investor is told about an algorithm with low risk, automatic stop-loss and a very high monthly return. This pitch matches exactly the pattern we covered in our article on copy trading fraud run on the promise that an expert or a robot is tradingTR.
The team structure is familiar too: an "analyst" commenting in the group, a person who promotes the app under an assumed name, the representative who opens the account and an "investment expert" who has trades made take on separate roles. We covered this division of labour in detail in our article on the fake investment call-centre operationTR.
🔒 Obstacles Met When a Withdrawal Is Requested
The common point in the reports about Meksa Investment is that getting money in is made easy and getting it out is made impossible. Although the answers given to a withdrawal request change from period to period, the result is the same:
- "If you do not trade, we will not pay": The withdrawal request is refused on the ground that there is not enough trading volume on the account. This is a variant of the method of locking withdrawals with bonus and lot conditionsTR; in older reports the same condition appeared under the name "lot condition" and a percentage bonus.
- Locked account: The user can enter the app but cannot see the balance or open trades. The representatives who opened the account cannot be reached at this stage.
- Access cut off entirely: Right after a relatively small withdrawal request, both the mobile app and the web panel are closed to the user; the customer service line and the number that used to call constantly do not answer.
- Account closed without reason: Some users report that their accounts were closed without explanation and that they could not reach their balance for months.
- The "my account was hacked" story: It is reported that trades were opened and the balance was withdrawn without the user's approval; because in schemes of this kind the panel is entirely under the platform's control, the appearance of an "outside attack" can be used as the reason for the balance being reset to zero.
- Balance reset by robot trading: After automatic trades described as "low risk", screens are shown in which the whole balance has melted away.
Whether the profit or loss movements shown on the panel have any counterpart in a real market is not something the investor can verify independently. For this reason, on platforms of this kind the balance shown gains meaning in law only through tracing the money that was deposited.
The personal data side should not be overlooked either. It is reported that at account opening the front and back of the ID card, address details and at times a selfie are requested. These details remaining in the scheme's hands are the source of risks such as a phone line being opened or other accounts being set up in the user's name.
📅 Waves of Reports: The 2025 Timeline
The activity under the Meksa Investment name is not a one-off; reports come in different waves during the year, and in each wave the reason for the withdrawal block changes:
- First half of 2025: Referral through Telegram stock groups, a lot condition and bonus promise, money being deposited into different accounts.
- August 2025: Reports that trades were opened and the balance withdrawn without the user's approval, and that an earlier withdrawal attempt had also been blocked.
- September 2025: The account being closed without a stated reason and the foreign-currency balance being out of reach for months.
- October 2025: Investments taken through the mobile app on the promise of "robot-assisted, low-risk" forex trading and the balance being reset to zero; also accounts that allowed login but had the balance and trading screens locked.
- November 2025: A withdrawal request being refused with the words "if you do not trade, we will not pay".
- December 2025: Access to the app and website being closed right after a small withdrawal request, and customer service and the representative's number not answering.
This picture shows that the scheme kept operating under the same brand name for at least a year and, as reports increased, moved its withdrawal blocks from a "trading condition" to a direct "access shutdown". The access-shutdown stage is generally the last phase on platforms of this kind.
⚖️ Is Meksa Investment Legal in Türkiye?
No. In Türkiye forex (leveraged trading) services can be provided only by brokerage firms that have obtained SPK authorisation. There is no record in SPK's list of authorised institutions for the service offered through the domain meksainvestment.com or the Instagram account of Meksa Investment. Meksa Yatırım Menkul Değerler, which does appear on the list, is a separate and legitimate institution; the burden of the imitated name cannot be placed on it. Whether an institution is really authorised can be checked through the steps we described in our article on SPK licence lookup and institution verificationTR.
Under Capital Markets Law No. 6362, carrying out capital markets activity without authorisation is an offence. Use of the name of a well-known institution and organised conduct through Telegram groups and a staff of representatives are the elements that stand out when the case is assessed as qualified fraud under the Turkish Penal Code.
🔗 Other Platforms Using the Same Method
Schemes that have forex accounts opened by using the names of SPK-licensed Turkish brokerages are not a single case. We have covered other platforms where the same scheme was seen:
- Forex fraud run using the name of Ata Menkul DeğerlerTR
- A fake platform imitating the name of Deniz Menkul DeğerlerTR
- Fake forex accounts opened under the name of İkon MenkulTR
- Forex fraud using the name of Ünlü Menkul DeğerlerTR
- Telegram VIP groups set up under the name of FibabankaTR
🧭 The Legal Process
In cases of this kind the process generally goes through the following stages:
- The criminal investigation begins with a criminal complaint; Telegram correspondence, app screenshots and payment receipts form the basis of the case.
- The owners of the accounts the money was sent to and the later transfers are identified through an asset investigationTR.
- In the civil proceedings, the amounts sent may be claimed from the owners of the accounts the money passed through by a restitution and unjust enrichment claimTR.
