Fake MonFX Forex Offers: Scam Misusing the Monex Name

MonFX is a corporate payments brand used by companies for international payments and currency conversion; it does not open leveraged trading accounts for individual investors. Even so, the name has appeared in investment offers made with the promise of a "professional account in the foreign exchange market". This article is not about the real institution but about the channels that reach investors using its name and appearance.
🏦 What Does the Real MonFX Do?
The address monfx.com redirects to the main website of the Monex group, and the group lists MonFX.com among its official domain names. The permission the brand holds from the financial authority in Singapore is not valid for investment services in Türkiye, and the group has no company established in Türkiye. It is also inconsistent with its own business model for a brand providing corporate payment services to approach individuals with the promise of returns.
🎭 How Do the Imitation Channels Work?
According to a warning published by the Monex group, fraudsters imitate the group's companies and employees and gain trust through fake websites, e-mails and phone calls. The signs seen in such operations are as follows:
- Calls that introduce themselves as the group's "crypto division" and propose high returns
- Domain names and e-mail senders copied from the official address with a few letters changed
- Pressure to hurry in moving money to another account "to protect your account"
- Fake invoices and payment requests sent in the name of the group's accounting unit
This scheme is assessed under the qualified fraud provisions of Article 158 of the Turkish Penal Code, covering offences committed through information systems and by using the name of an institution.
