Bitkey (bitkey.com.tr) Scam: WhatsApp-Guided Leveraged Trading

Bitkey (bitkey.com.tr) Scam: WhatsApp-Guided Leveraged Trading

Bitkey is a crypto and leveraged trading app that shows a USD balance and is downloaded through an Instagram advert or a link sent by phone. The user is managed not in the app but on WhatsApp by an "investment expert", and when losses begin the answer is always a request for new money. The common thread in reports received since June 2026 is withdrawal requests that are approved and then rejected.

In short: bitkey.com.tr, which operates under the name Bitkey, is not authorised in Türkiye by the Capital Markets Board (SPK). The method consists of leveraged trades managed over WhatsApp, payments that keep growing under the pretext of "collateral" and "additional funding", and withdrawals that never complete. In cases like these, tracing the money and claiming it back is legally possible.

🚩 How Money Is Kept Inside Bitkey

After the first small deposit, the user is assigned an "investment expert" and a "risk management officer". The leveraged positions that are opened soon turn negative; some users report that trades were opened without their approval. Then, with a "critical collateral" warning, more money is requested to "rescue" the account. People who say they have no balance left are urged to take out bank loans, draw cash advances on credit cards, and even buy gold and convert it into cash.

  • A withdrawal request first looks accepted in the app, stays "pending" and finally turns "rejected" — even for small amounts.
  • The live support and ticket screens return errors; the only contact is the representative on WhatsApp.
  • Anyone asking for a refund is told it will be possible only with a larger new deposit.
  • Users who have left the platform are called in the name of a "quality unit" and, with the words "you will have no more problems", persuaded to fund the account again; a further funding condition is then set for the full withdrawal.
  • Identity verification is also requested at the withdrawal stage.

🔍 Names, Channels and Payment Routes Used

  • Domain: bitkey.com.tr — as of October 2026 the site cannot be reached; the app is distributed through a link.
  • Names used to introduce themselves to victims: Akın Karman, Cem Kılıç, Bade, Eda and Melisa, with the titles "investment expert" and "risk manager".
  • Contact channel: WhatsApp and phone; a blocked representative calls again from different numbers.
  • First contact: an Instagram advert or a link sent directly.
  • Payment route: bank transfer; the reports mention an IBAN whose recipient name appears as "Osse".

⚖️ The Genuine Bitkey and the SPK Position

The name "Bitkey" belongs to a personal bitcoin self-custody wallet developed by the US company Block, Inc.; that product does not offer leveraged trading, does not assign an "investment expert", and no connection with bitkey.com.tr has been identified. bitkey.com.tr is not authorised by the SPK and does not appear in the SPK list of authorised institutions. SPK Decision No. 5/173 of 3 February 2017 is a warning against unauthorised investment guidance through social media and messaging channels.

🔗 Other Platforms Using the Same Method

We have previously seen the same scheme — an "expert" on the phone managing trades, loans taken out after losses, and fake satisfaction calls used to bring people back — on these platforms:

🧭 The Legal Process for Victims

  1. A criminal complaint process is started with the WhatsApp messages, transfer receipts and loan records.
  2. An act committed through an information system and a bank is treated as qualified fraud under Article 158/1-f of the Turkish Penal CodeTR.
  3. An asset investigationTR is carried out into the owners of recipient accounts such as "Osse".

❓ Frequently Asked Questions

Is bitkey.com.tr the Bitkey wallet of the company Block?

No. Block's Bitkey product is a personal bitcoin self-custody wallet and does not offer leveraged trading or investment advice. No connection with bitkey.com.tr has been identified.

Why is my withdrawal request approved first and then rejected?

The appearance of approval is given to keep the user occupied; the request is held as "pending" for a while and then rejected. At this stage a condition of "additional funding" or "collateral" usually comes up.

What does it mean to be called in the name of the "quality unit"?

These calls are made to persuade a user who has left the platform to deposit again. Reports show that even after re-funding, the withdrawal is tied to a further payment condition.

Can money I deposited through a loan also be claimed back?

Even where the money came from a loan or a card advance, the amount sent is treated as the subject of the fraud offence. A legal review of each case is needed for the details.
