idealFX Scam Warning: Undisclosed Scalping Rule Wipes Balance

Ideal FX (idealFX) presents itself as a global forex broker and builds contact with investors by phone and WhatsApp through an "investment expert". The investor is first promised high returns; when it comes to withdrawal, rules that were never mentioned at account opening are put forward and the balance, including the principal, can be wiped out.

In short: Ideal FX is not authorised in Türkiye by the Capital Markets Board (SPK). The scheme uses several methods: steering the account into losses through an "expert", wiping the balance at withdrawal with a "scalping" rule that was never disclosed, and collecting money through front company accounts that look like education or consultancy businesses. Tracing the money sent to these accounts and claiming it back is legally possible.

🔍 The Platform and What Has Been Identified

The client portal that investors log in to runs at client.idealfx.co. Contact is handled through phone calls and WhatsApp messages rather than a corporate customer service channel. User reports describe WhatsApp numbers that look like Türkiye lines but are operated from abroad, and that do not answer when called.

Victim statements show that the scheme has long operated with the same staff and the same pattern; the patterns seen in 2025 continued into the summer of 2026. Investors generally know only one "adviser" and have no other contact they can reach.

🚩 Fraud Methods

  • Losses through "expert" guidance: People who introduce themselves as "investment experts" give signals; most of the guided trades close at a loss, and then new money is requested with the line "your margin is low, add funds". In the reports the name "Ata Mercanlı" appears in this role.
  • Arbitrary deductions: On accounts that are in profit, most of the gains are wiped at withdrawal on grounds such as a "scalp deduction" or a "lot requirement".
  • The spread and collateral game: It is reported that spreads are raised arbitrarily and that pressure to open trades with large lots drains accounts within a short time.
  • Fake documents and blocks: It is said that a fake "contract" drawn up using the MetaQuotes name was used to place a block on the account, and that a payment was needed to lift it.
  • Stalling: After a complaint, another representative calls and asks for the complaint to be withdrawn, yet no step is taken towards a refund.

⏱️ Wiping the Balance with an Undisclosed Scalping Rule

The most distinctive pattern in the newer reports is this: when the investor asks for a withdrawal, the whole balance in the account, including the principal, is deleted unilaterally on the ground that several trades were "closed in under 4 minutes" and that this is prohibited "scalping". This rule was not communicated to the investor at account opening, during investing or in the WhatsApp messages, and it does not appear in any contract the investor approved.

One detail stands out: a small withdrawal had been allowed earlier without any rule being mentioned. Letting a small withdrawal through builds trust; the rule is "remembered" only when the amount to be withdrawn grows. A time limit that never comes up on losing trades but is applied only to a profitable account shows that the rule works as a barrier to withdrawal, not as a risk policy.

🏦 The Education-Consultancy Cover and Changing IBANs

Payments are not received in the platform's own name. They are taken by bank transfer (havale/EFT) into the accounts of companies opened at various banks in Türkiye that appear to provide education, consultancy, software or advertising services. According to victim statements, these companies are replaced every few months; the account of a newly set-up company is used for a while and then dropped, and no business activity exists at the registered addresses.

At the other end of the same chain, the payments made to investors as "profit" are reported to come from the accounts of other companies or individuals. This set-up aims to scatter the trail of the money, and it is also assessed separately in terms of a possible money laundering connectionTR.

🔁 Calling Victims Back with "We Will Make Up Your Losses"

Investors who suffered a large loss and stayed away for months are seen to be contacted again by the same scheme. In these calls the old losses are said to be "made up" and gains are promised through a new investment; the investor is persuaded to send a significant amount of new money.

The promise of compensation turns the desperation caused by the first loss into a new opportunity to collect. The fact that, in the second round too, a rule never mentioned before appears at the withdrawal stage shows that the cycle is deliberately built.

⚖️ Legal Position

Ideal FX has no authority to act as an intermediary for leveraged trading in Türkiye. In its decision No. 8/297 of 24.02.2017, the Capital Markets Board announced that bringing parties together for leveraged trading on behalf of foreign institutions would be treated as unauthorised activity. Authorised institutions can be verified through SPK licence lookupTR.

🛡️ Checks Before Investing

  • Whether the company's name appears in the SPK list of authorised intermediary institutions can be checked.
  • It can also be checked whether the account that will receive the money is held in the name of the institution the investment is made with.
  • Another point is whether all conditions, such as trade duration, lot size and bonus terms, are provided in writing before investing.

🔗 Other Platforms Using the Same Method

Wiping gains at withdrawal on the pretext of "scalping" or trade duration, and draining accounts through expert guidance on WhatsApp, is not specific to a single firm. We have covered other platforms where the same scheme was seen:

🧭 The Legal Process for Victims

  1. Gathering the evidence: receipts, WhatsApp messages and portal screenshots are put together, and the criminal complaint process begins.
  2. Identifying the front accounts: the company accounts that received the money, and the people behind them, are brought to light through an asset investigationTR.
  3. The refund claim: restitution and unjust enrichmentTR routes against the account holders are assessed.

❓ Frequently Asked Questions

Ideal FX wiped my balance citing a "4-minute rule". Is such a rule binding?

A condition that was not communicated to the investor beforehand and was never approved cannot later be put forward as grounds for deleting the principal. The fact that the rule comes up only at the withdrawal stage and only on a profitable account shows that it is used as a barrier to withdrawal.

Why did I send my money to the accounts of education or consultancy companies?

These companies are front companies used to separate the collection from the platform itself and to scatter the trail of the money. Replacing them every few months serves the same purpose.

I was able to make a small withdrawal earlier. Doesn't that show the firm is reliable?

No. Allowing small withdrawals is part of the trust-building stage. When a large withdrawal is requested on the same account and rules never mentioned before appear, it shows that this trust is being used afterwards.

They called me again saying they would make up my old losses. What does this mean?

Calling victims back with a promise of compensation is a method used to collect from the same investor a second time. There is no verifiable basis for the claim that the scheme that caused the first loss will make it up.

I suffered a loss because of Ideal FX.
