GTC FX Scam Warning: Telegram Referrals, No SPK Licence

The GTC FX name reaches Turkish investors mostly through Telegram "forex complaint" and "mutual help" groups, on the advice of people who present themselves as neutral users. The same brand also circulates as GTC Forex and GTCFX; it is reported that after money is sent the chats are deleted, and that withdrawal requests appear "successful" but never reach the account.
🎭 Referral Through Telegram Groups Posing as Complaint Groups
The referral starts in groups where people who have already lost money, or who are looking for a trustworthy intermediary, gather. Accounts saying "I got my money out with this firm" or "this is the only licensed one" present the recommendation as victim solidarity. This is a known story of Telegram channels disguised as complaint groupsTR.
- As soon as the money is sent, the chat is wiped with the "delete for both sides" option; the receipt, the promises and the instructions vanish from the phone.
- Transfers are requested not to a corporate account but to constantly changing personal accounts.
- When a withdrawal is requested, the spread suddenly widens or unannounced trades take place, and the balance is wiped out within a short time.
🌐 GTC Forex / GTCFX: An Offshore Operation and Its SPK Status
GTC Forex, or GTCFX in its joined spelling, is a brand that offers forex and derivative products and refers to foreign regulation, but works mainly through offshore entities. The protection offered by offshore regulators falls far behind that of top-tier authorities; the financial authorities of some countries have published warnings that the brand is not permitted to offer services in their markets.
For a Turkish investor the decisive point does not change: the brand has no SPK permit and no official activity in Türkiye. Authorised firms can be checked on the SPK list. Decision No. 8/297 of the Capital Markets Board dated 24.02.2017 classifies bringing investors in Türkiye together with foreign firms for leveraged transactions as unauthorised activity. We cover the general framework in our article on disputes with foreign brokers.
📉 "Withdrawal Successful" but the Money Never Arrives
The problem most often raised under the brand name is that the withdrawal screen shows the transaction as "successful", yet the money never reaches the user's account. At this stage the support desk stops answering, and the representatives come back not with a solution but with a request for a new deposit.
- Pressure: Representatives press for further deposits with the line "the opportunity is slipping away".
- Restriction: Unexpected balance changes and trading restrictions appear on the accounts.
- Artificial reputation: Positive reviews created in bulk and in a short time in favour of the brand are used to drown out negative reports. We examined this tactic in our article on building trust with fake references and reviewsTR.
🔗 Other Platforms Using the Same Method
This scheme, which runs through channels that steer people while posing as complaint groups and through offshore brands, is not a single example. We have covered other operations in which the same method appears.
- The Telegram complaint group called "Kimse mağdur olmasın" (Let No One Become a Victim)TR
- A forex Telegram group posing as mutual supportTR
- SmartSTP: an offshore CFD scheme with account managersTR
- TusarFX: an unlicensed offshore forex brandTR
🧭 The Legal Process for Victims
- Even though the chats are deleted, a criminal complaint process can be pursued on the basis of bank records and account movements.
- An asset investigationTR is carried out through the personal accounts to which the money was sent.
- Against the account holders, the route of a restitution and unjust enrichment claimTR is assessed.
