Primarkets Scam Warning: FCA Blacklist and Primark FX

The UK financial markets regulator, the FCA (Financial Conduct Authority), has placed the platform operating as Primarkets and using the domain primarkets.io on its official warning list. According to the FCA's explicit warning, this firm is "not authorised" and offers financial services without permission. Investment losses and account zeroing have also been reported in connection with this scheme, which reaches Turkish investors as Primark or Primark FX. Primarkets is not authorised in Türkiye by the Capital Markets Board (SPK) and holds no SPK licence.

🔴 FCA Official Warning-List Notice

The UK Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) has published an official warning about Primarkets and added the firm to its list of unauthorised firms:

  • ● Date of warning: 9 July 2025 — the FCA described the firm explicitly as "not authorised or registered".
  • ● Website: primarkets.io — this domain has been reported by the FCA as a site offering financial services without permission.
  • ● Stated address: Muiderstraat 1, 1011 PZ Amsterdam, the Netherlands — suspicious schemes are known to use false or shared addresses.
  • ● No FCA protection: Investors dealing with this firm fall outside the scope of the Financial Ombudsman Service and the FSCS (Financial Services Compensation Scheme). If money is lost, there is no statutory compensation mechanism.
  • ● Domain inconsistency: Although the firm claims to have been founded in 2021, the primarkets.io domain was found to have been created in 2025 — this points to a backdated, invented company history.

⚠️ Victim Reports and Identified Losses

Serious reports of loss have been recorded about this scheme, which reaches Turkish investors under the name Primark FX:

  • ● Investment losses: Victims report serious financial losses after investing on the direction of online advisers.
  • ● Account zeroing: Investors' account balances were reset to zero suddenly and without explanation — this suggests that the platform manipulates prices or displays fictional data.
  • ● Withdrawal obstacles: Various obstacles are reported when money is withdrawn from accounts that show profits.
  • ● Operation under several names: The fact that the same scheme operates under different names such as "Primark", "Primark FX" and "Primarkets" points to a strategy of reducing traceability and reaching different target audiences.

Naming Strategy and Layered Deception

The name "Primark" evokes the world-famous Irish retail clothing chain. The scheme's use of this name in a forex context is a deliberate strategy:

  • ● Transfer of recognition: The global recognition of the name "Primark" creates a subconscious sense of trust in the investor. Using the name of a successful retail brand for a forex platform is conscious manipulation.
  • ● Search engine confusion: When potential victims search for "Primark scam", they meet results about the clothing store, which makes it harder to reach negative information about the forex platform.
  • ● Name variants: "Primark", "Primark FX", "Primarkets" — operating through variants of the same scheme is intended to spread out the bad reputation that builds up around a single name.
  • ● Widening the target audience: Each name variant can target a different geography or investor profile — "Primarkets" is aimed at the international market and "Primark FX" at Turkish investors.

🛡️ Protection Guide

  • ● Whether a firm appears on the list of authorised institutions can be verified at spk.gov.tr.
  • ● The FCA's warning list of unauthorised firms is public — Primarkets appears on this list. Before investing, it is also worth checking whether a platform is authorised by the regulator in your own country (for example the FCA, ASIC or SEC).
  • ● Comparing a platform's domain registration date with its claimed founding date is a useful test. Large gaps indicate that a false history has been created.
  • ● The same scheme operating under different names (Primark, Primark FX, Primarkets) is one of the clearest signs of a fraud operation.
  • ● For people who believe they have been victims, account screenshots, bank receipts and correspondence records form the basis of the file. For detailed information and legal support, you can contact Savun Law & Consultancy.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why has Primark (Primarkets) been blacklisted by the FCA?

The FCA found that Primarkets is not an authorised or registered firm and blacklisted it on the ground that it offers financial services without permission. The decision was published on 9 July 2025. The FCA warning states plainly that investors dealing with this firm cannot benefit from any legal protection mechanism.

Is Primark FX an SPK-licensed institution?

No. None of the names Primark, Primark FX or Primarkets appears among the institutions authorised by the Capital Markets Board (SPK). No transaction carried out through these platforms is lawful under Turkish legislation.

My account balance was suddenly reset to zero. What may have happened?

This is one of the most common tactics of fraudulent forex platforms. The balance and profits shown on the platform may have no relation to real market data — entirely fictional figures are displayed, and the balance is then wiped out with excuses such as "market volatility" or "margin call". In reality, the money deposited may never have been traded on a real market.

Are Primark, Primark FX and Primarkets the same scheme?

The link between these names cannot be confirmed with certainty, but similar operating patterns, their appearance in the same period and a shared naming strategy point to a strong connection. Fraudulent schemes use different names for different geographic markets.

Why does the domain registration date matter?

The domain primarkets.io was registered in 2025, even though the firm claims to have been founded in 2021. This inconsistency is a strong indicator that a false history has been created. Legitimate financial institutions do not show such gaps between domain registration and founding dates.

What can be done by a Primark FX victim?

In practice, additional deposits to the platform are stopped and the full set of records is kept: account screenshots, transaction history, bank receipts and correspondence, together with a screenshot of the FCA warning as evidence.
