Starlink Defi Mining Scam: Crypto Mining Fraud Using Starlink's Name

Starlink Defi Mining is a scheme that connects to crypto wallets such as Trust Wallet through the address starlink-defi-mining.net and promises "daily earnings from ETH mining". The word "Starlink" in its name was chosen to borrow the recognition of the satellite internet service of Elon Musk's company SpaceX; there is no connection whatsoever between the two.
⛏️ How Does the "DeFi Mining" Screen Work?
The user connects to the site through the wallet application's browser and is invited to join a "liquidity mining" pool. In the first weeks a daily return in ETH accumulates on the dashboard; this display is used to encourage further deposits. When the user tries to send the balance back to the wallet, the account is shown as "blocked" and the user is told that the lock can be opened only with a new payment close to the amount deposited.
- The mining income shown on the dashboard is a figure with no counterpart on the blockchain.
- The access approval given to the wallet may allow assets to be withdrawn without the user's knowledge.
- The "unblocking" payment is the second round of the same cycle.
This method is a variant of the scheme described in our article on fraud run under the name of stablecoin and DeFi liquidity poolsTR.
🔍 The Domain and Sister Addresses
The domain starlink-defi-mining.net was registered on 24 April 2026 with the owner's identity hidden. The addresses starlink-oke.com and starlink-not.com, which use the same "Starlink" prefix and operate with the same mining promise and unlock fee, have also been reported; the operation continues by opening a new address in place of one that is closed.

🧭 The Legal Process for Victims
- The incident is assessed as qualified fraud committed through an information systemTR.
- In its decision of 8 September 2025, Docket No. (E.) 2025/549, Decision No. (K.) 2025/10818, the 11th Criminal Chamber of the Court of Cassation reversed, in the interest of the law, a decision not to prosecute in a case where crypto had been sent on a promise of high returns and access to the account was then blocked, because the platform's account movements and IP records had not been investigated.
- The exchanges reached by the transferred assets are traced through an asset investigationTR; the process begins with the criminal complaint stage.
