ATFX Scam Warning: Fake ATFX Clone Broker Platforms

ATFX is an international forex/CFD brand set up abroad that states it holds regulatory registrations in some foreign countries; in Türkiye, however, it has no permission from SPK. The brand's recognition has also led to a growing number of fake ATFX platforms copying the ATFX name and look: in May 2026 a new clone broker warning stood out in foreign user reports under the heading "jiamao ATFX" (counterfeit ATFX, written in Chinese).
🎭 The Fake ATFX (jiamao ATFX) Warning
The Chinese expression "jiamao" means "to counterfeit, fake". The warning that spread under this heading in May 2026 shows that a platform copying ATFX's name, logo and interface was collecting investors. A clone broker scheme usually works in the following stages:
- Brand copy: The real brand's name, colours and licence details are republished on a domain with an added letter or a different extension.
- Steering through social media and messaging: People presented as an "ATFX account manager" or "analyst" direct the investor to the clone site over WhatsApp or Telegram.
- Payment to local accounts: The investment is requested not in the broker's name but into personal accounts, crypto wallets or unrelated company accounts.
- Fake profit on the dashboard: The balance on the clone panel is inflated quickly and a larger investment is encouraged.
- Extra payment at withdrawal: When a withdrawal is requested, a new payment is demanded under the name of tax, commission, "collateral" or "account activation"; if it is not paid, the account is frozen.
Clone sites are short-lived; once an address enters warning lists, the same team continues under another domain. For this reason, it is not possible to tell whether a site carrying the ATFX name belongs to the real brand by its appearance alone.
❌ Problems That Stand Out in User Reports
The following headings recur in reports from users who say they traded under the ATFX name. It should not be overlooked that some of these reports may concern clone platforms using the ATFX name rather than the real brand:
- 🚫 Withdrawal obstacles: Withdrawal requests are said to be held without explanation, customer service to go unanswered and funds to flow in one direction only.
- 📉 Price and cost complaints: On accounts offered as "commission-free", trades are alleged to close at prices different from those expected because of spread differences.
- 🔒 Account closure and data deletion: Requests from users who want to close their account and have identity and bank details deleted are said not to be met.
- 📊 Pressure on profitable accounts: Accounts that move into profit are reported to be closed on grounds of "internal policy", or pressure is said to be applied to close positions at a loss.
⚖️ Is ATFX Legal in Türkiye?
A brand having a regulatory registration in the United Kingdom or another country does not mean it can serve persons resident in Türkiye. Under Capital Markets Law No. 6362, leveraged trading services depend on SPK permission, and no SPK permission has been granted in the name of ATFX. By its decision No. 8/297 of 24.02.2017, SPK announced that activities bringing investors in Türkiye together with overseas leveraged trading firms would also be treated as unauthorised. In disputes with a broker resident abroad, the jurisdiction and arbitration clauses in the contract are also important; we covered this subject in our article on overseas broker disputes and arbitration.
🛡️ Checks Before Investing
- Whether a platform appears on the SPK list of authorised intermediary institutions is the first point to verify.
- A domain name sent to an investor is compared letter by letter with the brand's known official address; an extra word or a different extension is a sign of a clone site.
- A request to pay into a personal account or a crypto wallet, instead of a corporate account opened in the broker's name, is regarded as a serious warning sign.
🔗 Other Platforms Using the Same Method
We have examined before the clone platforms that copy a broker brand known abroad. Other examples where the same scheme was seen:
- A forex and investment group set up under the TitanFX nameTR
- Fake KCM Trade: the kcmtradeint.com clone site
- A fake forex panel using the Invesco name
- Blackswan Trading: a clone site scheme
🧭 The Legal Process for Victims
Acts committed through clone broker sites are assessed under the qualified fraud provisions of the Turkish Penal Code, because information systems are used as the tool. The main steps of the process are:
- A criminal complaint is filed with the domain name, correspondence and payment receipts.
- To separate the clone site from the real institution, the methods for identifying clone brokerage sites are reflected in the case.
- For transfers sent abroad, the possibility of a SWIFT transfer recall is assessed.
- An asset investigationTR is carried out through the accounts the money was sent to.
