Lotas Capital Forex Scam: MISA Licence, Bonus Lock

Lotas Capital is a platform that says it offers forex and CFD trading at lotascapital.com and persuades investors to open an account with high bonuses and the support of a personal "adviser". The loss usually becomes visible when the balance grows and the withdrawal request is kept "in process" for months.

🚩 Which Methods Does Lotas Capital Use?
The picture that recurs in user reports is that the trading screen reflects not the market but the platform's own intervention. Positions expected to close in profit turn into losses through excessively widened spreads, and accounts are pushed to the stop out level within a short time.
- Bonus lock: a bonus of 40% to 100% is promised; the conditions are disclosed later, and it is only said after a loss occurs that the bonus does not work as collateral. We covered this scheme in detail in our article on locking withdrawals through bonus and promotion conditionsTR.
- Stalling on withdrawals: requests show as "in process" and are held for months with reasons such as "licence update", "withdrawals temporarily closed" and "MetaTrader server out of service".
- New client condition: some users were asked to bring new investors to the platform in order to withdraw.
- Recovery round: after the account is wiped out, extra investment is requested to "make up the loss"; the promise that the adviser will contribute from their own pocket is part of this round.
- Cutting off contact: once the money is taken, representatives stop replying to messages and the process is prolonged with personal excuses.
🏝️ What Do the MISA Licence and the St. Vincent Address Mean?
Lotas Capital has recently answered the question "do you have a licence?" with a registration at the Mwali International Services Authority (MISA). The platform is seen to appear on this authority's list under the name "Lotas Capital Ltd". However, MISA is an offshore body operating on the island of Mwali (Mohéli), part of the Union of the Comoros, with limited international recognition and weak supervisory standards; this registration provides no safeguard such as segregation of client money or a compensation fund.
In an earlier period the platform showed an office address in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines. The financial services authority of that country does not issue licences for forex intermediation, and the address did not match the records. In other words, within a few years the operation moved from looking like an "unlicensed offshore company" to looking like an "offshore-licensed company"; for an investor in Türkiye, nothing has changed.
🔍 Domain, Timeline and Account Transfer
- Domain: lotascapital.com. Although the site gives 2017 as its founding year, the domain was only registered in summer 2019; the claim of a corporate history is older than the internet presence.
- Waves of complaints: the first questions from foreign users about the regulatory status appear in 2022; reports of blocked withdrawals from Türkiye intensified throughout 2025, and the offshore licence claim was brought forward at the end of 2025.
- Account transfer: in the latest reports, users describe an account they opened on another platform being "transferred" to Lotas Capital without their being asked, after which neither the representative could be reached nor the balance withdrawn. Moving a client portfolio between brands is a known pattern that points to the same team working under more than one name.
- Platform: trades run on MetaTrader on the platform's own server; the price feed and order execution are not supervised by an independent intermediary.
⚖️ SPK Authority and the Legal Position
Lotas Capital is not authorised by SPK and does not appear on the SPK list of authorised intermediary institutions. Under the Capital Markets Board's decision No. 8/297 of 24 February 2017, offering leveraged transactions of foreign origin to investors in Türkiye without permission is unauthorised capital markets activity. A foreign offshore registration does not change this. Before investing, check whether a platform is authorised by the regulator in your own country (for example the FCA, ASIC or SEC).
Holding money collected with a promise of profit through a bonus lock and false reasons is assessed under the provisions on qualified fraud in criminal law; the validity of the contract signed when the account was opened may also be questioned separately.
🔗 Other Platforms Using the Same Method
The scheme of relying on an offshore registration and locking withdrawals with a bonus is not unique to Lotas Capital. We have also covered other platforms that follow the same steps:
- SF Capital FX: a Mwali registration and a bonus CFD accountTR
- XA Markets: an operation reaching investors in Türkiye with an offshore licence claimTR
- Dinero Markets: withdrawal refused after the bonus conditionTR
- City Wealth: withdrawal requests held "in process" for months
🧭 The Legal Process for Victims
- The accounts and wallets the money was sent to are identified and an asset searchTR is started.
- The case is taken into a criminal investigation through the criminal complaint process.
- On the civil side, the invalidity of the account opening contractTR and the refund claim are assessed.
