Mempool Recovery Scam: Fake BTC Balance, Recovery Fee

Suddenly a loaded BTC balance appears in a crypto wallet, and then someone using the name "Mempool Recovery" says they can deliver this asset or "rescue" a stuck transaction. In reality the balance on the screen is only an unspendable display; the aim of the scheme is to take a new payment under the name of a recovery fee.

🚩 The Fake BTC Display and the Recovery Fee

In schemes of this kind, a BTC display is projected into the wallet through a fake token or one that cannot be withdrawn. With technical-sounding reasons such as "releasing the transaction waiting in the mempool" or "paying the network fee to unlock the balance", the user is asked for a crypto transfer.

🔍 Is There a Link with Mempool.space and Trust Wallet?

No. mempool.space is a legitimate block explorer that shows pending transactions on the Bitcoin network to everyone; it does not offer a recovery service and does not ask anyone for a fee. Trust Wallet is likewise its own wallet application and has no connection with those who make contact under the name Mempool Recovery. These names are borrowed to give confidence to users unfamiliar with technical terms. Mempool Recovery is not authorised by the Capital Markets Board (SPK) (SPK list); schemes of this kind, in which information systems are used as a tool, are assessed under Article 158/1-f of the Turkish Penal Code.
